How To Cut The Costs On Your Wedding Day

Budgeting & Finances· Weddings

20 Jun

Saving money and getting ready for your special day can be a tall order, in particular, if you are planning a wedding with a long guest list or are even considering tying the knot overseas. However, this is no reason for you not to plan and have the wedding of your dreams, even if you are trying to stick to a strict budget. The reality is that it is easy to cut costs on your wedding day, without having a serious impact on your overall theme or plans. From creating your own floral arrangements to rethinking your catering, be sure to keep these tips in mind if you are trying to cut costs without spoiling your special day.

Get creative

If you are looking to cut costs on your wedding day, then it is up to you to embrace your creative side and consider different ways to decorate your venue. You could use paper to make origami paper chains and decorations that will overhaul even the smallest and darkest of spaces. While, if you are keen on having your own floral arrangements, then you can save money by buying in bulk from flower markets and choosing local blooms over imported flowers or roses. Finally, you can even make your own table decorations and wedding favors. Try bulk buying small jars and filling them with candies or homemade cookies, or even sewing your own scented drawer sachets, try thinking outside the box, and you will come up with some truly unique and unusual ideas that your friends will soon want to emulate on their own wedding.

Consider the time of year

When it comes to tying the knot, it pays – quite literally – to choose the colder months or opt for spring and autumn over Christmas, summer or around Thanksgiving. When it comes to choosing venues, the prices are likely to skyrocket during peak holiday times. You don’t have to sacrifice everything on your special day, as what you save on the venue and time of year you can spend on food or even the cake for example. So, if you are willing to be flexible then do take your time when planning and rethink the time of year that you are looking to hold your wedding.

Pre-wedding nerves

It is perfectly normal to be feeling nervous, anxious and concerned before your big day, so it is up to you to work with your partner to remain calm and enjoy yourself as much as possible before the day. Turn your anxiety into positive energy. Try using sites such as Unibet to help you to relax and unwind in the weeks prior to your wedding. Take time out to have some me-time, read a book or challenge yourself to a new task. Talk through your feelings with your partner, and you will be ready to walk down the aisle in no time.

If you are looking to cut costs on your wedding day then it is up to you to get creative, rethink the time of year that you are looking to tie the knot and make a few changes to your lifestyle so that you can have the wedding of your dreams.
