Bachelorette Party Ideas – Make Some Funny Memes About the Bride

Weddings

9 Feb

A big part of being the maid of honour at a wedding is of course planning the bachelorette party. The party itself can range from classy to completely raucous, however even if you are going for the chic option of heading to a spa with your girlfriends rather than hitting the town to see some male strippers, there should certainly still be some comedy involved in the proceedings! Making some funny jokes that you and your friends can all share which are specific to the wedding and bride can be a good way of doing this and using the medium of Internet memes can be a simple and hilarious way to achieve it.

It is easy to make just about any kind of joke with the combination of a good photo and a caption, and of course memes can be shared easily online so everybody involved in the party can have a go at adding their own, and the bride will get to keep a good repository of the funny things people said about her for her bachelorette party.

How to Make Memes

Making memes is relatively easy because there are plenty of websites that offer templates and allow you to put them together without using things like photo editing software. You can do anything from simply captioning a photo through to making more elaborate stories about your friend using Rage Maker to create what are known as rage comics. These are custom-made memes that tell a story using pre-made character images that are familiar to people who are used to looking at memes on the internet.

Where to Share Them

One option is for you as the maid of honour to make all of the memes yourself and simply share an album of them with the group of people on Facebook who are going to go to the bachelorette party. Another fun thing to do can be to have a group on Facebook that is only aimed at the people coming to the party with the exclusion of the bride herself, so you can all share memes that you’ve made together and surprise her with them on the day.

It is probably a good idea to keep the place where you decide to share and keep your memes private however, allowing you to be free to make the kind of jokes that she may not want her husband-to-be or family to see!

Ideas and Inspiration

The tone of the humor that you use in your memes really will come down to the bride’s taste, and of course the kind of relationship that you have with her. It can be ok to make slightly personal jokes but of course don’t be too mean spirited, after all this is her big day! If you’ve known her a long time and have some funny stories to share, or she has some particular quirks that are OK to make fun of in this context, then it can be easy to put together funny pictures and captions that are unique to her and will also be taken in good humor. Is there some fashion disaster of hers that you can remember from years ago? Do you all tease her about a certain personality trait? Or is she obsessed with a particular TV show or celebrity? Think about the things that are funny about her and the fun stories you have as a group and you should have no trouble coming up with good concepts for new memes.

Making the bride the focus of a collection of funny memes that you can all enjoy together online can also be a good way to include other friends who can’t necessarily make it to the party itself. All in all, it can be a simple and fun way to add a little bit of extra humor to the pre-wedding events.
