How to Host an Epic Bachelor Party

Parties & Events

9 Jul

The notion that your stag or bachelor party is your last night of freedom is outdated and tired. People are getting married later in life than ever before, to people they’ve been together with for years upon years. Though it can be fun to have one “last” wild night of fun, it is not essential. Instead, your bachelor party should be planned exactly how you want. There is no pressure to have a wild night on the town. There is no reason to only invite your male friends.

It’s the 21st century, and you can do whatever you want. If your goal is to host an epic bachelor party that all the groomsmen will love, follow this guide:

Focus On What You Want to Do

The tradition is for your best man to plan the bachelor do, but that doesn’t have to be the case. You can work it out together so that you can plan something truly unique and interesting. Go on a snowboarding or skiing trip to the French Alps, for example, instead of heading out to a club or expensive restaurant no one really wants to pay for.

Keep it to Close Friends Only

Though big groups can be fun, you shouldn’t feel pressured to invite everyone that you know to your bachelor party. This is especially important if you are planning a trip or activity that has limited space. By keeping it to close friends only, you can enjoy yourself more, make some great memories, share some laughs, and do it all without feeling like an outsider is watching you.

Create and Stick to a Predetermined Budget

This is one of the most important parts of the bachelor party. Whether or not your groomsmen are paying for your party, you don’t want to go overboard where it isn’t necessary. By starting first with a predetermined budget, you can then look into your options. Perhaps if skiing in the French Alps is too expensive, you can look to Norway or other less infamous mountain tops to get your thrill on. The same applies to all trips, restaurants, activities, or nights out. If your guests aren’t spending the party worried about how drained their bank accounts will be the next day, everyone will have a much better time.

Give Them A Great Gift

Groomsman gifts can be hard to choose, and whether you give them these gifts during your bachelor party or the wedding is up to you, but they can be a great way to show your appreciation – especially if your bachelor night wasn’t designed by you. When choosing a gift, try to opt for something that is personal, and enduring because these are the gifts that will be treasured the most.

Having a big night out can be a lot of fun, especially if your groomsmen get in on the planning or plan it entirely for you. That being said, don’t feel bad about putting your foot down if you just aren’t feeling the high-rolling night life. Choose something else that is fun for everyone, and show your appreciation to the family you’ve made for yourself.
