Budget-Friendly Honeymoon Ideas

Destinations & Honeymoons

29 Jan

A honeymoon is a truly special time. In fact, some would argue that the honeymoon is even more meaningful than the wedding ceremony itself. If you’re in the stages of planning your honeymoon but would like to do it on a budget, here are some great ideas.

Croatia

Croatia is known for its fabulous beaches and luxurious hotels. With beautiful coastlines and affordable food, this country is a fantastic getaway for honeymooners on a budget. The Istria region is especially prized for its vineyards, picturesque scenery, and lovely cobblestone streets. Highlights of Croatia include their olive oil and local wine, as well as attractions like the Roman amphitheater in Pula. For added romance, spend some time swimming or snorkeling in the gorgeous Adriatic sea.

Florida Keys

If the Caribbean isn’t an option, the Florida Keys is a fantastic alternative. Surrounded by beautiful ocean scenery, this area is ripe with great food and plenty of sun. With options to visit scenic places like Key Largo and Islamorada, this region will not disappoint. If you can rent a car, you could also drive the Florida Keys Scenic Highway, which extends 106 miles across the islands. Cheap flights to the Florida Keys can also be found from various destinations throughout the US, so you could even combine a trip to New York if the budget allows.

Riviera Maya

While Mexico is a popular destination for honeymooners, there are certain areas that are as beautiful as they are affordable. Riviera Maya is one of those locations as it offers the best of adventure and luxury. With world-class spas, parks, and a range of outdoor activities, Riviera Maya is a brilliant option for those looking for a beach-like honeymoon without extortionate costs. Whether it’s sunning on the beach or exploring the Mayan ruins, this region will have you coming back for more.

Ireland

For a slightly different take on a seaside honeymoon, Ireland is a unique option for those on a budget. With rolling green hills and rugged coastal views, Ireland provides a great deal of scenery and charming villages to explore. The city of Dublin is also a hot destination but be aware that it is one of the most expensive capitals in Western Europe! If you want a more natural adventure, visit the Emerald Isle and take advantage of the local bed and breakfasts overlooking the water.

Banff National Park

For an alternative to the beach, Banff National Park in Canada is another romantic, but rustic choice. Situated in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, Banff combines the best of luxurious accommodation and shopping with an array of outdoor activities. Whether it’s soaking in the Banff Upper Hot springs, taking a boat ride on Lake Minnewanka, or heading up the gondola to see the sights from Sulphur Mountain, there is no shortage of activities here. If you’re new to rustic adventures, you may want to take advantage of Adidas coupons at https://valpak.com/coupon-codes/adidas.com to ensure you have the right clothing for mountain weather and activities.

Portugal

If sun and beach are your top priority, Portugal is another affordable honeymoon option. While summers can get deathly hot here, the country is ripe with scenic areas that not only rival the likes of Spain and Greece but are much more budget friendly. Whether you stick to the beach or head inland to explore their ancient castles and local towns, Portugal is a haven for good food, adventure, and natural landscapes.
