What Does It Take to Be a Successful Business Woman?

Blog

19 May

Move over men, because women aren’t letting you rule the business world anymore. In fact, a study in 2018 found that women are now running 40% of small business firms. Long gone are the days of ”its a man’s world, women are just living in it.“ Now more than ever, females have a great opportunity to become successful businesswomen. With hard work and dedication and great eCommerce PCC Management, you too can climb the ladder and conquer the business world. Do you have what it takes?

Education

Women are rapidly climbing the corporate ladder, but they’ve had to work hard to get there. If you hope to pursue a career in the business world, education can be a big tool to help you. Not only does an advanced degree in business help you learn the field in-depth, but it gives you advanced credentials and increases your hire-ability. You may want to consider pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA). While not every job in the business field requires an MBA, having one can greatly increase your earning potential. Having this advanced degree in fields like finance, international business, and marketing can set you on your way to a six-figure salary. If you are willing to put in the time, money, and effort upfront for this level of schooling it will jumpstart your success as a businesswoman.

Preparedness

In a way, women have less room for error than their male counterparts. To grow your success in business as a woman, you’ll want to guarantee you are always prepared. Come in with fully-formed, well-researched ideas and be prepared to fight for them. You never want to get caught in a corner, so the more you can prepare, the easier it will be for you to defend your plans and ideas while you’re pitching them.

Dress the Part

Along with preparedness comes wardrobe. Whether we like it or not, women are often judged by their looks. “Is that skirt too short? Is that look professional enough? Is that blouse too tight?“ Unfortunately, women have to deal with these questions in any field, but especially the business world. But you’re in luck because plenty of female clothing stores are here for you to help you look and feel your best. Maybe you want to rock a skirt and blazer look. You can buy a collection of comfortable, stylish, and professional black skirts and other basics from White House Black Market. It is key that you feel confident in your professional attire. You are a woman ready to take on the world, you should look the part.

Innovation

One of the reasons women are so successful in business is because of their unique problem-solving skills. Men and women approach puzzles and problems differently, so use your innovative tendencies to your advantage. Of course, it’s not a competition, but the more you can bring bright, innovative ideas to a board room, the more essential you’ll become.

Innovation can be any number of things, from reworking an entire marketing plan to implementing a small but effective new tool. For example, custom pens are a new marketing strategy sweeping the nation. When you can put your imprint or company logo on plastic pens that your customers carry with them, they’re amazing promotional products. Think outside the box with these kinds of ideas. Who knows, a promotional pen could be your ticket to a promotion!

Don’t Be Intimidated, Believe in Yourself

It’s hard to ignore a level of intimidation for women in any male-dominated field. When you’ve been shut out for so long, it‘s hard to speak out once you do have a seat at the table. To find success as a businesswoman, you can’t allow yourself to be intimidated. You are intelligent, strong, innovative, and beyond worthy of the position you hold. So the last piece of advice is to just believe in yourself. As long as you believe you can achieve anything, the world is your oyster. Go seize your moment.
