How To Get Rid Of That Cold Sore Before The Big Day

Blog

26 Feb

When we are about to get married, we have so much to think about and so many reasons to have extra stress, which is unfortunately when our body fights back and we can get cold sores or lip blisters. The last thing you want is to get one of these before your big day, but if you notice one coming, there are things you can do to make sure you get rid of it as soon as possible.

Ice

This is one way to help get rid of that blister and is completely free. Everyone will have ice in their freezer or it can easily be made. Ice can be used as an anti-inflammatory and can also help relieve the burning or itching sensation you may get from your cold sore. When the swelling has gone down, the cold sore is more likely to heal. Ensure you do not touch the cold sore apart from putting the ice on it, and do this a couple of times a day.

Tea Tree Oil

This is a natural oil that has antiviral properties, meaning it will help kill the virus causing the blister and in turn help it to heal faster. Never use your finger when doing this as you can hold millions of bacteria on your fingers, which can delay in this process. It can be hard, but the less you touch your blister, the faster it will heal. Use a cotton swab to apply tea tree oil a few times a day and before you go to sleep. It may cause the blister to look dry, this means it is working. Check out healthrow.net for more information on these annoying blisters and why you might be suffering with them.

Hydrogen Peroxide

If you speak to your local pharmacist or GP, they will probably promote a product that contains Hydrogen Peroxide. Rather than paying for a brand name, you can buy this product on its own. Hydrogen Peroxide has antibiotic properties and is great for getting rid of marks on the skin. It will also kill any bacteria harboring around the sore, ensuring it doesn’t become worse. Add a small amount of the liquid onto clean, dry cotton and repeat every 2-3 hours.

Echinacea

As well as treating the cold sore at its source, you can drink Echinacea tea, which can help your body fight the blister from the inside. If you cannot find any of these tea bags, they are also sold as supplements. You can drink this or take the supplement two or three times a day and it works by strengthening your immune system, which will then help fight the viral infection. You can use this in conjunction with the other remedies.

Don’t stress over your big day! This is easier said than done, but stress causes the body to shut down and the immune system will not work as well as it normally would. Follow these tips and you are bound to get rid of that cold sore. Any small mark left can easily be covered with makeup! Good luck on your big day!
