4 Ways To Wow Your Guests At Your Wedding

Blog· Parties & Events· Weddings

Everyone has their own idea of their dream wedding, many of us have been planning it since before we met our husbands! Every wedding has a beautiful bride, a stunning dress, a cake and a chance to dance the night away, but many of us want something more – something that makes our wedding stand out and be talked about for years to come! Not all of us have the budget to arrive by hot air balloon or hire a full orchestra to play for the whole day!

So, here you’ll find a few ideas of how you can Wow your guests at your wedding and really make your wedding extra special for everyone.

Think about your food options

Many people serve a heavy, sit down meal during the reception, which is very filling and very expensive! Why not think outside the box and instead of having a traditional sit-down meal, consider a buffet or serving finger foods for guests to dine on? Have you thought about hiring a hog roast machine for the day? A hog roast looks and smells incredible! Depending on your party size, it could be better value for money then a large sit-down affair. It will also give guests a chance to mingle instead of abiding by the strict seating plan…! Check out this website for more information.

Embrace social media

You might be too busy to look at your phone on the big day, but your guests will inevitably log onto social media. Why not take full advantage of this and create a hashtag or @ for your wedding? Post signs throughout the venue letting everyone know! It’ll be a great way to document the big day and you’ll get some (hilarious) natural shots your photographer won’t!

Childcare

Kids at weddings are inevitable and they’re important part of your family! But when the celebrations go on past bedtime, little ones can get a little cranky and irritable. Take the pressure off your guests who are parents – and help the little ones relax – by hiring a babysitter for the evening. They can be set up in a separate room with a film or quiet activities, and maybe even somewhere for them to crash out peacefully.

Put yourself in their shoes – and think about your guests

Of course, it’s your day, but you want your guests to enjoy every second of it too. I’ve been to weddings that required a lot of standing and “hanging around” in the cold while photographs were being taken. The best plan is to anticipate your guests needs before they do! Have the bathrooms filled with the essentials: breath mints for after the meal and wipes for those pesky lipstick smears or red wine stains! If your venue is outdoors and it turns chilly, then why not have some cosy pashminas or blankets on standby? I’ve been to a wedding where flip-flops were provided for the guests aching feet – in the bride’s colour scheme of course!

So, don’t be stressed when planning your dream wedding or be worried about your guests the whole night. It is your special day. Just make use of these pointers and your guests will be in awe of your wedding!
